The Federal Government continues trying to block adult Americans from spending their own money on Internet gambling while American business interests happily offer the service to the rest of the world.

The latest offering from the United States to the rest of the world's gamblers is the Las Vegas "Asian Games Network" Internet gambling site.

From what I can see this package will enable Internet Gambling portals to consolidate several types of well known and obscure, at least in the Western world, types of games, and sports betting, without investing i8n additional hardware.

I keep saying that as soon as U.S. corporations have the lion's share of Internet gambling sites under their control the ban on funding by U.S. banks will be lifted.

There's a running gun battle going on in Las Vegas between smokers and the State of Nevada and it has had some disastrous effects on both large and small businesses.

Most young people will probably think I'm pulling their legs, but I grew up when it was common to smoke cigarettes along with your doctor, while he was examining you for the cause of your chest pains or chronic cough.

In fact, the first time I went to the hospital, for a hernia operation, there was an ashtray on the nightstand.

But things are different now, California is almost a non-smoking State, and I understand that cigarettes in New York City are around 8 bucks a pack, in an effort to curtail smoking.

Here in Las Vegas there is a new law that prohibits smoking in any place that serves food unless there is a distinctly separate enclosed area for smokers only. Not many of the small casinos and bars have been able to set this up due to costs and as a result they have lost customers.

Personally I don't see why it's necessary to make every place non-smoking. It should be up to the individual owners to decide if they want smoking or non-smoking, and it should be up to the non-smokers to decide if they want to patronize places that allow smoking.

However smokers now have their havens, in the form of upscale cigar bars and lounges, where they can purchase and puff away on cigars of every imaginable type from all over the world. Alas, Cuban cigars, at least new ones, need not apply for admittance, as our government continues to punish the mighty nation of Cuba for having the temerity to not do what Washington wants.

Cigar lovers in Las Vegas can gather and enjoy their stogies in peace, in almost any Strip casino, in posh places such as "Casa Fuente" shown above.

Despite the fact that most fans of college football have been clamoring for years for a playoff system to determine the National Champion it is not to be.

Well, I had high hopes for a playoff system for college football, but once again the movers and shakers have decided to go with the status quo undoubtedly because there's more money in the current system, despite what the BCS people say.

I feel that I need only point to the 2007 NFL season and playoffs as proof that more than just the two top ranked teams have a shot at the championship.

The fact that a wild card team, the New York Giants, came out on top is reason enough to have a playoff system for college football. This would give teams that came on strong late in the season a fair shot at the #1 ranking.

But who am I along with the millions of other college football fans who want a playoff system akin to the NFL's?

Here's the story about the BCS rejection of a college football playoff system.

Nevada is the only State in the Union where gambling on professional sports is legal; but this posting will prove interesting to those who like to follow the betting lines and make imaginary bets.

There are differences among most similar things in life such as cars, washing machines, and food, and that now includes baseball betting lines.

After all, if there weren't differences, then one would be enough, there wouldn't be any competition.

Check out this discussion and explanation about Las Vegas baseball betting lines and make smarter bets.

Have fun and good luck!

Sometimes you have to dig them out but most of the Las Vegas casinos printable coupons are easy to find.

Many visitors, and even residents of Las Vegas, are unaware of fact that most of the major Strip casinos, and even some smaller off Strip properties, offer printable, online coupons.

We have friends from New York visiting here who are staying at The Riviera, the casino sponsoring the Pool Tournament in which one of our friends is competing.

I pulled up The Riviera website and checked out the free offers listed under "printable coupons".

Getting double your money ($20.00) on the slot machines is as good a deal as you're going to find, so I knocked out enough coupons for everyone.

Always check that page on any Las Vegas casino that you may be stopping at, and don't forget to look for contests and sign up for the newsletter for advance notice of special deals and events.

Here's an up to date listing of and links to nearly every Las Ve3gas casino.

Have fun and good luck!

Despite the general economic downturn in the American economy, and in the building industry in particular, Las Vegas continues evolving and expanding.

The much heralded and highly anticipated city within a city, City Center in Las Vegas has run into some funding problems, but no doubt will be completed, more or less per plan.

Now, the second city within a city in Las Vegas is about to be born, as Mayor Oscar Goodman's long time dream of a renewed Downtown Las Vegas will soon become reality.

Naturally there will be at least one casino/hotel, after all this is Las Vegas, but the majority of this project will consist of a performing arts center, office space and residential units.

This latest Las Vegas wonder called, Union Park, should provide a much needed enhancement to Downtown Las Vegas.
