Las Vegas is the most exciting city in the world, and you can find anything and everything you want within minutes of wherever you are; you can bet on that.

While gambling is the main reason people visit Vegas, you'll soon learn that there are more activities and attractions, both within and outside the casinos, than you could imagine.

I'm lucky; I live in Las Vegas, and my boss thought it was time for me to share what I know, and am still discovering about the greatest gambling and entertainment town in the world.

These days there are plenty of places in the United States, and the rest of the world for that matter, where gambling is legal, but none of them has what Las Vegas offers. 24/7/365.

When you take a break from gambling treat yourself to a luxury spa treatment, or a world-class rodeo, or skiing and snowboarding, yes, we have that too, at nearby Mount charleston, uh, only in the winter though.

Las Vegas has something for all tastes including a NASCAR track, and we even have a classical music station to listen to as you drive from place to place.

When it comes time to chow down you'll find not only your familiar back home franchises in abundance but enough world-class dining to satisfy the most demanding epicure.

You know you want to be here, everyone does. Las Vegas' McCarran Airport is now the 4th busiest in the country, and 9th in the world. If your return flight is delayed, there are mini casinos right in the airport, so you can gamble and keep on winning right up until boarding time.

People are moving here at the rate of nearly 7,000 per month, so we must be doing something right.

In fact, roughly 80% of Las Vegas' residents are from somewhere else, including yours truly. When someone states that they are a native born Vegan everyone within earshot stops to take a look. It's almost as though the insiders are the outsiders. Maybe that's why visitors feel so at home here.

The world-wide gaming industry, which is what gambling is officially called, is growing by leaps and bounds, and Las Vegas is the rapidly beating heart that keeps it going.

But gambling is what you're probably most interested in and I promise to keep you up to date on the latest trends, events and news in the gaming world.

I could go on forever about this fascinating city, and I will, on a daily basis. I hope you'll visit "Playtime Las Vegas," and then visit Las Vegas itself.
