Although still revered, and rumored to be walking the Las Vegas Strip as ghosts, the "Rat Pack" of the 50's and 60's is long gone, as are many other Las Vegas Icons.

However, one hanger on, and a welcome one at that, who is reminiscent of the "Old Vegas", is Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton.

Yes, Wayne Newton still draws visitors and residents alike and you can read a fascinating story about how an older couple jazzed up their lives with a trip to Las Vegas to see Mr. Las Vegas.

The old Stardust, where Wayne was supposed to headline through 2009 may have come down but Mr.Las Vegas is standing taller and prouder than ever.

Wayne Newton is a Las Vegas icon. He's one of the staples people come looking for in Vegas, featured in many television shows that were filmed in Vegas. He was in National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation and a recognizable figure. Wayne Newton is Mr. Las Vegas and no one can take that away from him.
