It's hard to believe that The tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is 50 years old.
Maybe the architecture of the time was so advanced that even today it still looks somewhat contemporary, at least to me, but 50 is beyond ancient in Las Vegas.
So, rather than knock down this landmark structure its owners have decided subject it to a large scale makeover, which should put it right back into contention as a top attraction on the Las Vegas Strip.
Here's the story.
I'll be following this project, which will take the better part of 3 years to complete, closely, since the Trop has always had a special place in my heart, as you can tell from this recent video posting.
