SUPER BOWL FOR LAS VEGAS?
Filed in archive SPORTS STUFF by jim on April 05, 2007

The city of Las Vegas just hosted the NBA All Star NBA All Star game, and now city officials have their sights set on the Super Bowl.
It's a well known fact that Mayor Goodman has been trying for years to attract a major sports team to Las Vegas, any team, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, the National Football League
, and, years ago, the National Hockey League. So far it's been a no-go at the highest levels of sports. Las Vegas has a minor league baseball team, the Las Vegas 51's, but that's not the same as the Yankees.
So, the city continues trying to host some form of major professional sports events, despite the stigma of gambling, the very thing that made Las Vegas what it is, and the latest hope is that of having a Super Bowl played here.
This is the latest thinking on the subject according to the sports writer for UNLV's sports reporter.
