LAS VEGAS TRAVEL

How safe is Las Vegas? That's a question people ask only about Las Vegas and any place they're going to visit for the first time.
Las Vegas is safe, and I say that not because I live here, I say it because it's the truth. I don't have anything to do with the city itself, or any commercial enterprise in Las Vegas, so there's no reason for me to lie.
Now, you must understand that like any big city, there are areas best avoided, particularly at night. But then you really wouldn't have a reason to be in those areas unless you were looking for something illegal.
I grew up and worked in some of the most dangerous places in the country and by using a bit of common sense I'm still around. The funny thing though is that the few times I was a target for criminals, in New York City, it was on busy streets, in broad daylight.
In those days I weighed the same as I do now, but it was distributed much better, with the bulk of it being muscle, rather than floppy, bulging cholesterol storage sacks. So my would be muggers got nothing from me, other than cuts and bruises.
The hotels and casinos in Las Vegas are ultra safe and The Strip is too. We have very effective, highly dedicated cops in Las Vegas, and if a problem arises, they quickly quell the situation.
It's just a matter of following a few common sense rules, the same as you would in your own town or city.
Here's an article about staying safe in Las Vegas, and this link takes you to a comprehensive Las Vegas travel site.
