Here's a completely new concept being considered in, where else, the progressive state of California.

This concept, if accepted could have quite an impact on Las Vegas Casinos.

California has an extensive state lottery system and now state officials are pondering the possibility of combining the lottery with slot machines.

Nevada is one of the few states with a lottery, which, as I've said before, is ridiculous. It's no secret that the greedy casino owners are fearful that one of their gamblers might spend a buck or two on lottery tickets and not gamble that dough in their casinos.

So, our backward thinking state lawmakers continue to cave in to this pressure and vote down a state lottery, resulting in billions of dollars being spent by Nevada residents on California's lottery, and Arizona's.

Yours truly makes the pilgrimage every 3 months or so to buy lottery tickets at the outlet shown above in Primm, California, as do thousands of other Las Vegas residents.

So am I using money that would otherwise be gambled in Las Vegas casinos? No, I've played state lotteries all across the country, wherever I lived, ever since they first started.

Sooner or later I'm going to hit it big.

If California does combine its lottery with slot machines I can envision hordes of slot/lottery players flocking to California to indulge in both of their passions simultaneously.
Now that will hurt the Las Vegas casinos.
