SNOW IN LAS VEGAS

As long as we're on the subject of snow I may as well respond to the frequently asked questions
regarding the weather in Las Vegas. As you can see in this video, yes it does actually snow in Las Vegas, but only on very rare occasion.
In a word the weather here is generally "hot", but the climate has been changing during the 16 years that I've lived here.
People often say that desert heat is a "dry heat." Let me tell you, I'm sure that 120 degrees with 90% humidity is terrible, but 120 degrees is still 120 degrees, and that's hot, even when the humidity is in the teens or low 20's.
Fortunately temperatures in Las Vegas rarely reach that level, but 105 to 110 degrees for days on end is typical during July, August and September.
The humidity in Las Vegas has gone up considerably in the last decade, due, I'm told, to the increased number of man-made lakes, and golf courses with lots of grass that needs watering. Of course the issue of global warming comes into play too, but that's such a hotly debated item that I won't speculate on its effect.
Obviously there isn't much rain, although if you watch "CSI", one is led to believe that it rains here as often as in New York since it seems that the streets are always wet on that show.
It takes about 2 to 3 years of living here for your blood to thin and at that point the heat becomes easier to tolerate. Of course if you move here from Phoenix you're already acclimated.
