Poker continues to grow in popularity and no Las Vegas casino can be competitive when it comes to attracting gamblers unless it has a first rate poker room.

The Silverton Casino is as different from other casinos as is a bass from a deer. I use that comparison deliberately because The Silverton caters to sports and outdoors people.

If you are traveling in an RV the Silverton can accommodate you easily with its huge parking lots specifically designed for the big recreational rigs.

Anyone who needs fishing, camping, hunting, or nearly any other kind of outdoor gear can find it at the adjacent "bass pro shop." Now that's different.

But The Silverton is a casino and they have all the usual slot machines and table games as well as a newly redesigned, very comfortable Poker room.

In keeping with their sports/outdoor theme The Silverton has just joined forces with the "NHRA" to sponsor some drag races.

I was there late last year and I can tell you that their reasonably priced buffet will please, and happily fill even the biggest of bellies, including mine.
