POKER UPDATE
by jim on August 26, 2006

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," is the current slogan for my fair city.
However, that is not supposed to be the case with a gambler's winnings.
Jamie Gold, winner of the "World Series of Poker", has had his winnings frozen after a lawsuit was filed by a man claiming to have evidence that he's entitled to half of the final pot.
It looks as if he has a solid claim too as reported in this article.
I was in a gambling mood and wanted to enter this year's tournament, and my wife agreed. She set two conditions though, I had to raise the entry fee on my own, and finally remember which was higher, a Flush or a straight.
Maybe next year I'll at least have the money saved.
