Here's another poker player's success story.
If you like playing poker chances are you like stories about what other poker players are up to. Amateur poker player, Nick Scott, became interested in online poker, qualified for a tournament, and won enough money to finance a movie about an artist, who has an unusual method for creating his pieces.
You never know how one pursuit can lead to fulfillment in another.
For those times when you don't have anyone to play poker with you can always watch actors playing poker.
Here's the link to a list of the top poker movies currently available.
Tomorrow, Thursday that is, the Encore Cable Network will air "High Roller," a movie about the up and down life of professional poker player, Stu Unger.
Michael Imperioli, of "The sopranos
," plays Stu Unger. Now the information I have states that the movie will air at 11:40 a.m. PDT, which is 8:40 a.m. EDT.
I dunno, that's an odd time, and in any event it is during a time of day when most people are at work, unless you live in Las Vegas. So, I strongly suggest that you check your program listings, and set up your VCR, DVR, or DVD recorder to snag it for you.
In the absence of one of those devices try to get someone to watch it in real time and relate the story to you.
If you're into poker video games here's news of a new one released yesterday by Activision that is based on the "World Series of Poker".
"Poker Academy.com," has a "Poker Accelerator", available which is a computer poker simulator they claim helps sharpen your skills.
Apparently this software allows you to play with yourself when no one is around to play with.
The company is offering a free trial demo of the software, and, as promised, from the same company, here's the link to their free, downloadable, poker odds calculator.
