I'm convinced that we will see the return of easy to access Internet gambling for Americans before long.
The reason is simple: money. There's lots of it floating around in the online casinos and Corporate America wants in on the action.
Las Vegas casinos have, for a long time, been invested in online gambling sites to a minor degree, but as you can see from this article, there is now increased interest particularly in Internet Poker sites.
Believe me the Federal Government will welcome Internet gambling for Americans, including credit card funded gambling accounts, as soon as two things happen. When American owned online gambling sites are the predominant force, and two, a system for taxing American's online gambling winnings is in place the Federal government will reverse itself.
Meanwhile online many gambling sites, such as "Absolute Poker", has remained available to American online Poker players all along.

In the UK gambling is not taxed, so there is no advantage for the Government, but in the US they Government can make quite a lot of money from the taxation of online casinos etc...
