cheap airfare to Las Vegas and decent inexpensive meals once you got here used to be taken for granted but all that changed when corporate America took over.
The rationale was simple, give gamblers an inexpensive way to get here, let them eat well for next to nothing, or free, give everyone free drinks, and let them have a good time gambling with their money. It worked.
Little by little though the greed factor took over and prices were raise, constantly, on everything. The impact was gradual but as more out of State casinos went up the ones in Las Vegas started taking a hit.
Now that there's a general turndown in the economy there's no choice for the Las Vegas casinos but to offer generous incentives and that's what has happened.
