Except for the diehard corporate clown most Las Vegans feel the town was better off when the mob ran it.

A dispute between a bartender and a slot player over a five-dollar payout has blown up into a monumental situation.

Frankly, I can't really blame anyone for not wanting to be fleeced, even for 5 bucks. But when the facts aren't clear, and all that's at stake is a fiver, and it involves an old woman, c'mon. OK, it's a small place, but still, the profit margin is enormous, c'mon.

This never would have happened when the mob was here.

How this whole thing evolved is almost beyond belief, but the Gaming Commission in Nevada is a tight ship, and they take every complaint seriously.
