This video features the Native American fancy dress competition.
This is the first dance performed during Powwows and gives the audience a chance to see the performers decked out in their best, authentic, Native American regalia.
During November, which is Native American Month, Las Vegas hosts a huge 3 day Powwow, near Veteran's Day, which draws competitors from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico.
November is a great time of year to visit Las Vegas, unless you're an all out high temperature lover. It's still warm enough so that only a light jacket is necessary and since it's "off season" you can expect the hotels and casinos to be more discount minded.
If you want to attend this Powwow keep this website to refer to for the dates for this year's event, it should be updated later this year.
In the meantime you can review the ad for the 2006 Powwow to see what went on and you can bet this year's will be even bigger and better.
Hey, what do you think of that picture? That's one of mine that I took as the official, unofficial volunteer event photographer.
