Week one of the football season is upon us. Are you ready to place your bets?
This is the last week of the vacation season and people are heading to Las Vegas where the sports books are geared up for football season.
It's still not too late to get your bets in on the teams you think will make it to the Super Bowl. These wagers must be made prior to the start of the first game of the season.
The odds are long on these bets, but for a few bucks you could end up with a nice payout at the end of the season, if your picks make to the big game.
There are so many factors to consider when betting football so it pays to keep up with everything connected to the sport, both on and off field.
I make no recommendations as to who provides the best insight into the game but I'm pointing you to a few links that will at least get you started on the road to knowledge to make your football handicapping a bit easier.
Current NFL betting line compliments of "Vegas.com".
Sports betting links recommended by the Stardust Casino.
No advice from the NFL.com but everything you need to know about the current state of the sport can be found here.
Free college football pick of the week, from "About.com", use at your own peril.
My wife is a football fan, and for several years we conducted a friendly in house weekly football pool, and except for one season, when her job required her to travel a lot, she outdid me.
Say what you will about female emotions, but she based her selections on a combination of a team's past performance, and how much the coaches and players pissed her off during interviews.
So you guys might want to consult the lady in your life, maybe even your mother.
Good luck!
