, POKER UPDATE

This is a move that was not unexpected but only time will tell if it turns off Poker players.
The Excalibur Casino in Las Vegas has become the first casino to make a complete changeover to fully automatic Poker tables in its Poker room.
Casino management makes no bones about the switch being a cost cutting measure and has cut the Poker room staff from 50 full time employees to a mix of 18 full and part timers.
To me it's a bit of a turn off since chips and pieces of cardboard just seem right, but money is what its all about so goodbye tradition, and jobs.
What I find amusing is the comment by an Excalibur boss that since people like playing internet poker they can now play it here.
Yeah, but not in your underwear, like you can at home.
Here's the story about Las Vegas first automated Poker room.

I am not sure I like fully automated poker tables. Part of the fun was watching your chip stack build up. Of course, if you are not so lucky, not everyone in the casino has to have a visual cue now.
