There's plenty of action just outside of Las Vegas, and it's not all going on in the casinos. This video gives you a look at what may very well become Las Vegas South.
Sometime, in the not too distant future, there may be an opportunity for people with a spirit of adventure and an eye to their own futures to reap the benefits of the next possible boom town in Nevada.
Jean, Nevada, 30 miles south of Las Vegas, is home to 3 casinos, a post office, 2 gas station/convenience stores, a Highway Patrol sub-station, and according to the Wikipedia, 2 residents.
But, that's now, and it won't remain that way forever. The "Nevada Landing Hotel and Casino" is destined to be demolished on in its place a planned community consisting of a new casino and hotel, housing and stores will be erected.
There is a small airport nearby, but it can only accommodate small, private aircraft. However, there are plans to build a new commercial airport in the area to help take some of the strain off of Las Vegas' overworked McCarran Airport.
What does that mean? Well, it means that with property prices rising in Las Vegas, and traffic increasing, many people will be looking for an alternative place to live and work and Jean may just be the answer.
Laugh if you want, but remember that nearly everyone laughed at Buggsy Siegel when he revealed his idea of a boom town in the middle of the Mojave Desert in Nevada.
