Las Vegas has tightened its grip on giveaways over the past decade but you can still get some better than average comps if you go about it the right way.
With all casinos now utilizing the "Player's Club" approach so they can literally "track" a gambler's play the old days of just showing up and asking a "Floorperson" for a comp is pretty much over for all but those who play for big stakes frequently.
