As Las Vegas expands in every direction so have the methods available to travel around this large and fascinating city.
Most visitors to Las Vegas make it a point to walk The Strip, at least some of it, so they can experience what this city is all about, but there are times when motorized transportation is preferable.
Probably the best bet for traveling up and down The Strip and the best transportation bargain in Las Vegas are the relatively new double decker buses.

For 5 bucks you can buy an all day pass and ride these comfortable coaches to your heart's content stopping off wherever you want.
For photo buffs like me they're really great. You can carry a significant amount of gear without having to walk miles to get photos of all the major casinos and you don't have to worry about parking and then having to walk a quarter of a mile from the garage to The Strip.
If you're interested in trying your luck in a few Strip casinos that are a long distance from each other you can use the las vegas monorail

This method of travel is more costly, and frankly, has not been well received, but many people like to try different, more futuristic modes of transportation.
Of course there are plenty of taxis but be prepared to pay high prices, really high prices. But, then again, if you have the dough, or if you can split the bill with several people nothing beats the door to door service you get from a taxi.
But this is Las Vegas, and you expect the unusual here, so check out this article about some of the more exotic modes of transportation in Las Vegas.
