Fremont Street, in Downtown Las Vegas, is a unique concept that embodies old Vegas, coupled with a modern high-tech twist.
Take a look at this video and see this famous and popular area that has been enclosed with a giant roof containing thousands of lasers which are used to produce spectacular light shows.
Fremont Street reminds me a bit of the New Jersey shore boardwalk areas with their small stands offering food, souvenirs, and all manner of oddball things that no one needs, and everyone buys.
The only difference, aside from the lack of an ocean, is that the arcades and thrill rides of New Jersey are replaced with casinos.
John Charles Fremont, known as, The Man Who Mapped The West, is the person for whom the street is named, and you can read about him, and why he has been memorialized in Las Vegas, here.
