NFL Football bettors research all the variables before making their wagers, but are all the data they scrutinize valid?

As a long time sports fan, and bettor in a previous life, NFL Football has to be the most carefully examined sport in the wagering world.

Perhaps it's because there are so few games, and there's a week between them which gives gamblers the luxury of dissecting every particle of information about the teams before plunking down the cash.

Whatever it is though, nothing is more anxiously awaited than the weekly injury report. Everything else about an upcoming game is static, except for the weather, and since that affects both teams equally, if indeed the game is played outdoors, the only real variable is who's fit to play.

However, it seems that nfl coaches and owners have been playing a little inside joke on each other and the fans.
