CAN YOU "READ" OTHER POKER PLAYERS?

CAN YOU "READ" OTHER POKER PLAYERS?

Is it a bluff; or is there a full house in that hand?

Wouldn't you like to know what your opponents are holding the next time you take part in a "friendly" game of poker with your friends?

Of course you do, but unless you play with people dumb enough to sit with a mirror on the wall behind them, you have to rely on guesswork.

However, there are some people who are good at "reading" the other players and their powers of observation sometimes enable them to anticipate what's on their minds.

Here's an article that might help you get the upper hand on your fellow players.

Good luck!

Poker is a microcosm of all we admire and disdain about capitalism and democracy. It can be rough-shewn or polished, warm or cold, charitable and caring or hard and impersonal. It is fickle and elusive, but ultimately it is fair, and right, and just.

If YOU can’t spot the sucker within the first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker. There are few things that are so unpardonably neglected in our country as poker… Why, I have known clergymen, good men, kindhearted, liberal, sincere, and all that, who did not know the meaning of a ‘flush’. It is enough to make one ashamed of one’s species.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

I think you can use NLP techniques to read you opponents. This combined with facial expression and body language reading can give you a slight advantage in the game.
