LAS VEGAS TRAVEL
by jim on April 23, 2008

There are many interesting places of interest just a short drive outside of Las Vegas, and guess what, some of them are casinos.
One of the reasons people visit Las Vegas is to take advantage of the outdoors in the Great American Desert and a trip to the Boulder City area is a must.
Obviously the biggest attraction there is the renowned Boulder Dam, or Hoover Dam, as it was previously called. I took the above photo of it late last year and I was happy to see that there are vast improvements in traffic flow and parking availability since I was last there.
But something else that will be of interest to gamblers, especially that who want a change from the huge Las Vegas Strip properties, is Las Vegas' second Strip, Boulder Highway.
A ride along this scenic route will give you a good look at the desert and mountains without ever being more than a few minutes from civilization.
You'll also want to spend some time at the quaint, historic little casinos on Boulder Highway just outside Las Vegas.
Have fun and good luck!
