Even as a long time resident of Las Vegas I can never get used to the way this city changes and morphs on a constant basis.

Every time I think it's reached the zenith of growth a new round of building starts up which quickly eclipses the prior cycle.

Whereas some visitors find their comfort zone in a particular casino or hotel and return to it time after time others like to try different properties.

Now, with growing competition from Macao and soon Spain, and with ever growing numbers of gamblers visiting casinos closer to home, the push is on to create more attractions in Las Vegas and increase tourism.

The overall latest plan is increase hotel capacity by a whopping 43,000 rooms and build a new airport to accommodate the hoped for additional traffic.
