BIG FIGHT IN LAS VEGAS

Oscar De La Hoya and floyd mayweather
Jr. will lace up the gloves and have another go at each other on Saturday May 5 in Las Vegas.Pro boxing is in a sad state of affairs these days. What used to be a gentlemen's sport has turned into a silly circus thanks to the likes of Don King, IMHO.
King and others have seen to it that there aren't any clear cut champions because of all the boxing, "councils" such as the WBA, the WBF, the IBC, etc, each claiming that their top ranked guy is the "champion."
Interest in boxing has waned for many other reasons too such as the lack of high quality American fighters, and the high price of tickets and pay per view.
Now however, we will have a fight that is generating great interest here in Las Vegas, and may perhaps rekindle interest in the sport.
Mayweather is the favorite at 2-1, and has an undefeated record at stake. Neither of these guys is a kid, they are both highly experienced and great fighters.
De La Hoya also enjoys the advantage of being considered a "local" here in Las Vegas where he has many, many loyal fans, including me.
Here's the scoop on the fight.
This link will take you to more details and a prediction of how the fight will go.
Basically this event is sold out, and the hotels are pretty well booked to capacity, but if you have the bucks, and it will take plenty of them, you can still get a ringside seat and a first class accommodation.
