If you're in the mood for a trip to Las Vegas, and you're a bargain hunter, this is the time of the year to put the two together.
When hotel occupancy in Las Vegas declines to about 90% it's considered the "off season", and the casinos start offering incentives, particularly in the form of reduced room rates.
That time of the year is now, and unless you insist on sampling the Las Vegas summer heat, this is a great time of year for strolling The Strip, without having to drink a quart or more of water per hour.
