The Suncoast Casino is one of Coast Casino's newer properties, and it is located in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas.
This part of Las Vegas is being rapidly developed by both home and business builders. The casino industry isn't far behind in providing places to gamble for the expanding population of this western and slightly northern area of Las Vegas.
The parking lot was fairly full even though it was barely mid day on a Friday. Being basically a locals casino that surprised me a bit, but then there are a lot of retirees in that area so that may account for the crowd.
After driving to a spot near the rear of the front parking area, and almost as soon as I started to shoot the video a bicycle riding security officer, quite common in Las Vegas, appeared.
He stationed himself about 30 feet from me but never said anything and simply kept his gaze fixed on me.
I figured if they're that uptight about security there was no sense in going inside and being prevented from videoing as had happened in The Rampart Casino a bit earlier.
Personally I think the obvious presence of security personnel is a good thing because it keeps the riff-raff, who might panhandle customers, or worse, off of the property.
Anyway, this is a fairly new property and that was the first time I had seen the place up close. It wasn't overly fancy and was better looking than I thought.
I really wanted to check out the interior but it wasn't worth a quarter of a mile walk unless I knew I could video the casino for you.
You can visit the Suncoast website for a look inside the casino.
